Do you hear that? The birds are beginning to sing, the days are getting longer, and the wildflowers will soon start to bloom in the foothills. Ah, spring in the Treasure Valley! Here are a few ways to go forth and enjoy this rejuvenating time of year. What’s Up in the Treasure Valley?
STORY STORY NIGHT: BRAVE THE ELEMENTS March 26 and April 30, 7 p.m. JUMP, Boise
YMCA SPRING SPRINT TRIATHLON April 12, 9:15 a.m. Participating Treasure Valley YMCA’s Swim, run, and bike your way to spring in the YMCA spring triathlon! The annual event is a great warmup for spring’s plentiful outdoor activities. It features a long course (750 yard swim, 12.5 mile bike ride, and 3.1 mile run) and a short course (200 yard swim, five mile bike ride, and one mile run). Both runs begin at 9:15 a.m. Ages eight and up are welcome to participate, and registration is open. Find more information at Ymcatvidaho.org/ runs/spring-sprint-triathlon.
TREASURE VALLEY CHILDREN’S THEATER PRESENTS ‘SHREK, JR.’ April 12 and 13, 2 p.m and 7 p.m. Treasure Valley Children’s Theater, Meridian
If you’ve never been to a Story Story Night event, the Flagship winter/spring season is a great place to start. Each epic night features a different theme that local storytellers pull from to inspire their true tales. The March 26 theme is “Aluminum;” April 30 is “Helium.” Feeling inspired?
