Why are progress reports requested for some SDP services?		7
Progress reports help determine whether a service is effectively supporting the participant's Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals. They provide valuable information about the participant's progress, help identify whether any adjustments are needed, and assist the planning team in making informed decisions during the annual person-centered planning process. Progress reports are not requested for every service but may be required when they are necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of a service in meeting the participant's identified outcomes.		7

What are DDS Directives?		8
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) frequently distributes directives to regional centers that provide guidance and instruction on a variety of policy issues. These directives are in accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code section 4685.8(p)(2), which authorizes the Department of Developmental Services (Department) to issue program directives or similar instructions until regulations are adopted.		8
