KEY PROJECTS & OUTCOMES Impact story - Fiedler SA Innovation in chemical substitution Collaborated with local partners such as Surcotech and Idéalchimique, in line with Fiedler’s local collaboration philosophy, to identify safer alternatives to acetone used in production processes. First, a new solvent-free glue was developed. This then enabled the replacement of acetone stripping with a water-based “detergent stripping” process, validated through pilot testing and prepared for full industrial rollout.
• Targeted process redesign allowed to achieve a 90% reduction in acetone consumption, lowering usage to approximately 6,000 liters by December 2025 and reaching the STI objective four years ahead of schedule. • The same innovation-driven approach enabled the full elimination of perchlo- roethylene as of November 2025, avoiding approximately 2,900 kg and achieving zero use by the end of 2026.
• Target consumption of 155 m³ reached and on schedule , despite the inherent water-intensity of the substitute process. • Improved monitoring enabled the identification of clear operational control levers (e.g. minor leaks and usage
Water consumption monitoring Implemented detailed monitoring of water consumption following the transition to the new water-based process, enabling closer operational oversight. Ergonomics program Conducted a comprehensive ergonomic assessment of all workstations based on the PMSE audit, supported by employee testing and feedback.
inefficiencies), creating opportunities to further optimize water use beyond the initial target. • Established a robust baseline for ongoing monitoring to ensure process stability over time.
Employee health & ergonomics • 100% of workstations reviewed following the PMSE audit (February 2023).
• Ergonomic targets achieved for priority workstations, reducing physical strain and improving working conditions. • Strong employee adoption and positive feedback observed, reinforcing engagement with the initiative.
