This minister made a public confession of his sin in deceitfully handling the Word of God, and after the confession preached a Gospel sermon, three souls accepting the invitation, the first con verts of his ministry in many years. Each Sunday night since, there have been seekers of Christ as the result of his preaching. “ Truly,” says our friend, “ the lower criticism saves no souls.” This evangelist forms a “ King’s Busi ness Band” in each town where meet ings are held, thus promoting definite Bible study, and copies of The King’s Business are distributed to the members of these bands. This Man Opens the Throttle “ Dear King’s Business:-— “ I beg to be allowed to take a portion of your valuable time with a few random thoughts. I am struck with the present situation, that is indeed involved. To day’s San Francisco Chronicle in a brief editorial article refers to the Racial Mind as being in a “ state of unstable equilibrium.” The phrase is a good one as a person takes a world survey of the froth and foam stirred up on the human sea by its boiling, seething wind-tossed substance. Satan has a work in hand; whether his great grudge is against the Almighty One or against us His crea tures, the result works out the same. “ Did you read Dr. Devine’s lesson ex position for the month of February in our M. E. Sunday School magazine— mere talks on social science such as could be naturally scribbled off in the lobby of the hotel or in the seat of some railway passenger coach. Do you also note what a stir H. C. Morrison and Rev. Meek and Rev. Munhall as editors of their respective papers are making? Here for my comments: The governing policy of the M. E. Church breaks down right at this point, for the Hierarchy, the Oligarchy, self-perpetuated and or ganized, is a law unto itself, while the hop© of the church in this case lies with the laymen. Not the ‘lay delegates’ the

You edi tors are too hot-headed. If anyone in the United States happens not to be lieve everything exactly as you do you seem to think he is a heretic. You are not able to see over your own noses. A man may be a ‘pre’ or a ‘post’ and yet reach the pearly gates. Why not fight the devil for a while?” Note:— Pray tell—when did we ever intimate that a postmillennialist would not see the pearly gates? Or that a Christian who did not see everything “ exactly as we do” was a heretic? As to the “ pre” and “ post” matter, we are beginning to believe that the “ posts” are now extinct. The opposition to the teaching of the Lord’s coming seems to come now almost entirely from men who do not believe in His coming at all, nor in the reliability of the Word of God. This Is Much Better “ For a long time,” writes the field secretary of the World’s Sunday School Association for Egypt, “ I have read The King’s Business borrowed from some of my missionary friends. I have trans lated, every now and then, some of its sermons and articles in Al-uda, the weekly organ of the U. P. Church in Egypt and Sudan. Your magazine has certainly been very helpful in my work and a blessing here in Egypt.” Lower Criticism Saves No Souls An evangelist in New Zealand writes us of a recent meeting held in a New Zealand town where many were con verted, among them a Methodist minis ter who for years has preached Unitar ian doctrine and various philosophies.
