sage she sent back to the king, and then tell what the king did with God’s book before all the people.) It was a wonderful day and a wonderful meet­ ing. And the king took away all that was evil in the kingdom, so that the people could worship God freely, as they promised. Let us say our memory verse. “ Thy word have I hid in mine heart.” We want to say this verse over and over so we will remember it, and then do just as it says. King Josiah hid God’s word in his heart, and did as it told him to do, and all the people loved their King and followed him.

(13) Therefore now amend your ways and your do­ ings, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord w ill repent him of the evil that he hath pro­ nounced against you. (14) As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do w ith me as seemeth good and meet unto you. (15) But know ye fo r certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood |upon you r­ selves, and upon this city, and upon- the inhabitants thereof: fo r o f a truth the Lord h'ath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears. (16) Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets: This man is not worthy to die: fo r he hath spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.

(8) Now It came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking* all that the Lord had com ­ manded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die. And all the people were gath­ ered against Jeremiah in. the house o f the Lord. (10) When the princes o f Judah heard these things, then they came up from the k in g’s house unto the house of the Lord, and they sat down in the entry o f the new gate of the Lord’s house.
