ELEMENT 4.7 - ALERTNESS

Learning objective:

The participants can discuss how and why alertness reduces the risk of injury related to working around electricity (Knowledge, intermediate level).

The instructor shall:

Facilitate group discussions about how and why being alert can reduce the risk of injury related to working around electricity in a WTG environment. Alternative activity: share a story that highlights how and why the risk of injury related to working around electricity in a WTG environment can be reduced by being alert.

The participants shall:

Engage in the group discussions share understandings about how and why alertness reduces the risk of injury related to working around electricity.

The instructor shall:

Give constructive feedback to the participants´ group discussion about alertness.

ELEMENT 4.8 - BLIND REACHING

Learning objectives:

The participants can discuss how and why blind reaching increases the risk of having direct contact with energised electrical components (Knowledge, intermediate level). The participants can discuss examples of relevant actions and/or mitigation measures in a WTG environment to avoid blind reaching (Knowledge, intermediate level).

The instructor shall:

Simulate blind reaching (touching where you cannot see).

Facilitate group discussions with the participants about how and why blind reaching increases the risk of having direct contact with energised electrical components.
