Facilitate group discussions with the participants about examples of relevant actions and/or mitigation measures in a WTG environment to avoid blind reaching i.e. what to do instead of blind reaching:

Ensure proper illumination (proper lighting).

Ensure a good view of what you are working with.

The participants shall:

Engage in the group discussions and share understandings how and why blind reaching increases the risk of having direct contact with energised electrical components. Engage in group discussions about examples of relevant actions and/or mitigation measures in a WTG environment to avoid blind reaching.

The instructor shall:

Give constructive feedback to the participants´ group discussions.

ELEMENT 4.9 - ILLUMINATION

Learning objective:

The participants can discuss why illumination (proper lighting) reduces the risk of injury related to working around electricity (Knowledge, intermediate level). The participants can discuss examples of what to do in hazardous situations with a lack of illumination (Knowledge, intermediate level).

The instructor shall:

Facilitate group discussions with the participants about:

Why illumination reduces the risk of injury related to working around electricity in the hazardous situations? What to do in hazardous situations with a lack of illumination (e.g. get proper lighting before initiating work)?

The participants shall:

Engage in the group discussions and share understandings about why illumination reduces the risk of injury related to working around electricity and what to do in hazardous situations with a lack of illumination (proper lighting).

The instructor shall:

Give constructive feedback to the participants´ group discussions.
