MUSIC

Chapel Choir Meets Dulwich College Beijing Choir

On Tuesday 22 nd June 2016 the Dulwich College Chapel Choir had a short concert with Dulwich College Beijing Choir. They came all the way from China just to sing with us! After the long flight, as you can imagine, they had jet lag and were quite tired. We sang a piece of music at the start. After that Dulwich College Beijing sang three songs. One was from the islands of Samoa, another fun swingy piece and a traditional Chinese piece (it would be quite strange if they came all the way from China and didn’t sing a Chinese song!). I couldn’t understand the words from the pieces but they sounded beautiful nonetheless! We were informed that a visiting boy called Harry was very talented in playing the guitar and that he would be playing us a piece of music. I didn’t think it would be that good but I was wrong. I had never heard such majestic guitar playing in my life. When this was all over we sang them two pieces of music and then we sang one more piece of music together. Sadly it was the end of the concert and we had to say goodbye to Dulwich College Beijing. I really enjoyed the concert and hope I can sing with Dulwich College Beijing again soon. Sam Waldron
