regardless of the score line, the boys were undeterred and continued to battle away for the entirety of the match. The boys’ hard work and determination was rewarded in the second half with tries scored by Charlie Edwards and Tom Connellan. The stand out man for Dulwich was Kennedy Wilks, who put in some crunching tackles and led the team in defence. The game was played in excellent spirit and despite the score line it was a great opportunity for the boys to play against a team of such high standards. Following the game, the boys went back to the Parc Y Scarlets for a tour of the stadium. The tour gave the boys an opportunity to have another look around the pitch, changing rooms and training facilities, as well as gaining an insight into all the behind the scenes work that that is required to put on a professional rugby game. Another long day was topped off by a team meal at Nandos and a trip to the cinema to watch Goosebumps, before returning to the hotel for an early night ahead of our last day. Sunday morning came and the boys packed up all of their kit before making their way back to Bury Port RFC for our second fixture of the tour, this time to play against the hosts, Bury Port. This was a much more evenly matched game with both teams playing some lovely running rugby throughout. DC looked like a new team compared to the day before, and from the first whistle played some magnificent rugby, displaying some silky skills in attack and some fierce, determined tackling in defence. An impressive performance by everyone involved saw the U11s claim their first win of the tour in style, beating Bury Port 10 tries to 4. The win was made even sweeter by a special visit from Wales and Scarlets’ second row, Jake Ball (pictured), who came down to show his support and meet the boys in the clubhouse afterwards.

On the Friday before half term, Mr Sewell, Mr Whaymand and the U11 rugby team set off on their rugby tour to Llanelli in West Wales. After a long drive, the boys arrived at the Parc Y Scarlets, the home ground of the Llanelli Scarlets, ahead of their Guinness Pro 12 Fixture against Edinburgh. This gave them an opportunity to watch a first class rugby game, which turned out to be a thriller, with the Scarlets scraping a one point win 22-21. The boys were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to go out onto the pitch at half time and have a run about with one of the local teams in a game of touch, before returning to the stand to watch the second half of the match. The first tour fixture was against Llanelli Boys’ School, a team made up of boys from a number of schools in the Llanelli region. It was a tough game for DC, with the Llanelli boys displaying some of the most impressive rugby seen in this age group, scoring some exceptional tries throughout the game. However, U11 RUGBY TOUR

The tour was a great success and the boys were a real credit to themselves and the College.
