Junior Alleynian 2016

SPORT

On a slightly drizzly Sunday in deepest Kent, 12 Junior School boys represented the College at the IAPS Triathlon Championships. With many boys competing in their first triathlon, it was an exciting new venture for some. The course involved an 800 metre swim followed by a 4km cycle and a 1.8km run. Out of 168 competitors in the Year 5 competition, two Junior School boys came 1st and 2nd overall and showed amazing speed across all three disciplines as well as through the transitions. In the Year 6 race, out of 125 competitors, we had four boys who placed within the top 27. All the boys who competed should be commended for the phenomenal effort they exerted in completing the triathlon and for the fact that many are already itching to compete in next year’s event!
