students in a very adequate and comprehensive manner. I might illustrate something of what I've been talking about in the case of Miss Leona Soubirou. By way of background of the School of Missionary Medicine, let me say that when I first became Dean in 1942, I made it a policy to interview every graduating senior. I was able to follow that policy for several years while I was Dean. There recurred, rather frequently, the idea that some of our graduates wanted to go to Toronto to enter a school of missionary training, a one- year program particularly for those who were going into missionary service. I immediately became interested. I thought that if there were something worthwhile going on in Toronto, why isn't it going on here in the United States and particularly at Biola? So I got the curriculum of the Toronto school and we studied it rather thoroughly. Because it was so definitely of a missionary nature, there was quite a bit of interest stirred up in regard to the establishment of a similar school
