Now in its 10 th year, the Supply Chains to Admire award analyzes public reporting for manufacturing and retail companies from 2013 to 2022. The insights are: • There is no substitute for a year-over-year comparison to the peer group. Each industry peer group has a different potential. • The patterns tell the story of performance in the complex, non- linear system we term the supply chain. • An analysis needs to be at least five years in duration to tell the story. • Don’t confuse performance, improvement, and value. • Functional metrics throw the supply chain out of balance, decreasing performance. To maximize value, implement a balanced scorecard . • Success is driven by leadership, innovation, and organizational alignment.
