fied in Christ Jesus, which means sepa- rated. As He was separated so are we. He was not of the world, neither are we (John 17:14). We should recognize our position and maintain it. His priestly office (1 Pet. 2:5). A priest to offer up spiritual sacrifice. Ail believers are priests (Heb. 10:1-8). They are also authorized as interces- sors and should exercise that life con- stantly in behalf of others and for the Church. - ' . • His authorities (Rev. 1:6). Kingly Priests, or a Kingdom of Priests. As- sociated with all believers in the king- ly office. What a wonderful* position, and what wonderful powers are ac- corded us. LESSON VII. Sunday, August 14, 1910. The Believers' Possession. 2 Cor. 4:1-15. Life Uninterrupted (John 10:28). Everlasting life lies at the basis of all other possessions of the believer. That he has a gift from God (Rom. 6:23). There is no such thing as death for the soul; death relates to the body. All souls shall live forever. Believers have a life from God which, shall know no '^Relationship Unbroken (Gal. 3:26). Taken into the family of God, he never 2oes out. We become bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh (Eph. 5:30). We must hold this truth with tenacity. There is no power which can break the relationship. God himself says so. Righteousness Unsullied (2 Cbr. 5:21). Christ was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God. We had no righteousness; we had sin. He had no sin, and by His death as sin bearer and sin purger, He im- putes to us who believe the rightness of God. We are justified m God s sight (Rom. 5:1). He sees us as though we had never sinned. There is no taint of guilt or sin upon us. We are clothed in the white garment of God's own rightness (Rev. 19:8). Peace Undisturbed (Eph. 2:14). He is our Peace. He is the Prince of Peace fisa 9-6). He has made peace through the blood of His Cross (Col. 1:20). The peace is His gift to us (John 14:27). I t passeth all understanding (Phil. 4: 7) We should let it rule in our hearts (Col 3-15), and follow peace with all men (Heb. 12:14). He will keep us in perfect peace (Isa. 26:3). Acceptance Unquestioned (Etih. 1:6). We are accepted in God 's dear Son.
every time of danger and storm (Psa. 32:7; Psa. 71:5). Our Rest. To pillow our head upon (Matt. 11:28). Our Helper. Bigger and better than all others (Psa. 40:7). Our Portion. Others may be content with things; we have Himself (Psa. 119:57). Our Hope. Our expectation is m Him. For Him we look and wait. In Him all the fulness of the Godhead dwelleth. So we have all things in Him (Col. 2:7). PEAISE YE THE LORD. FOR AUGUST. LESSON VI. Sunday, August 7, 1910. FOUR FACTS CONCERNING BELIEVERS. The Believers' Position. Eph. 1:3-14. His Relationship. This is established by birth. A child of God (Rom. 8:16); born again (1 Jno. 1:12-13); born from above (Jno. 3:3); by faith in Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:26). Taken out of the family of Satan, when we were chil- dren of wrath (Eph. 2:3), and trans- lated into the tamily of God (Eph. 2:6). This is a blood relationship, for though we were once afar off, we are made nigh by the blood of Christ (Eph. 2:13). Nothing can sever this relationship. His Fellowship (1 John 1:7). Be- longing to the family he has certain privileges, which are accorded only to those which are within the circle. His fellowship is with the Father and with His Son (1 John 1:3). Fellowship im- plies a common interest, companion- ship, partnership, joint interest. Our fellowship is unbroken, save as we our- selves sever it by sin. Let us walk in the light with Him. His dignity (Rom. 8:14). Sons of God. Children in relationship. Sons m position—this implies heirship. Son- ship suggests maturity. We have re- ceived the spirit of adoption whereby we cry " A b b a, F a t h e r ." The son of a Roman citizen at maturity was clothed with the toga of a man and de- clared to be a full-fledged Roman. So will it be when the Lord comes and we receive our full title and dignity. His glory (Rom. 8:17). Suffering pre- cedes glory (Luke 24:26). Christ suf- fered before He entered into glory. Suffering is essential to greatest glory. We must suffer with Him and shall be glorified together. His separation (1 Cor. 1:2). Sancti-
