The Start with Hello program was created by Sandy Hook Promise to build strong and resilient school communities, empower students to embrace empathy, reject bullying and social isolation by teaching practical strategies for building healthy peer relationships. Workshop participants will be trained to implement the school-wide Start with Hello program and be provided with engaging and developmentally appropriate K-12 activities to kick off a school-wide Start with Hello week event. The training and lesson plans for the week’s activities are provided at no cost to LEAs or schools. Lessons align with Transformative SEL, CASEL Competencies and Social Justice Standards.
Intended Audience
Site administrators, MTSS/PBIS/leadership team, parent liaisons, certificated staff, and classified staff.

Teaching Social Skills (Elementary) SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS

This course is designed to equip elementary teachers with training on the five core competencies of the CASEL framework: self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision- making. Educators will gain a clear understanding of which social and emotional skills to teach and will be provided with relevant, practical activities to effectively integrate these skills into their classrooms.
Intended Audience
General education teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
