Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection. This training will provide a brief overview of TBRI® practices.

Intended Audience

Educators, special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, and other service providers.

The course will outline the major difference between self-harming behaviors and suicide. Participants will learn how to identify warning signs of both and how to effectively responds. Discussion regarding the impact of social media and how suicide and self-harm are portrayed in the media will be covered. Participants will learn what questions to ask someone who is self-harming and/or showing signs of suicidal behavior.

General education teachers, site administrators, special education teachers, counselors and school psychologists
