CHROMABOND HR-XC · HR-XA · HR-XCW · HR-XAW ® Mixed-mode ion exchangers
These phases combine ion exchange with reversed phase interactions on the same PS/DVB polymer. That allows selective extraction of acidic or basic compounds from heavily contaminated matrices such as urine, plasma and serum. Choose your phase by the pKa of your analyte: HR-XC : strong cation exchanger: bases with pKa 2–10, e.g. amines, and fungicides from food HR-XA : strong anion exchanger: acids with pKa 2–8, e.g. phenolic acids and acidic herbicides HR-XCW : weak cation exchanger: strong bases with pKa > 10, e.g. quaternary amines HR-XAW : weak anion exchanger: strong acids with pKa < 1, e.g. sulfonates and perfluorinated compounds (PFAS)

CHROMABOND HLB ® Hydrophilic-lipophilic balanced
An N-vinylpyrrolidone-divinylbenzene copolymer that retains analytes across a wide polarity range. Because HLB is water wettable, the extraction can continue even if the sorbent bed runs dry, which makes methods more robust.
