Acylation reagents Acylation – enhanced detectability
TMSH: for free acids, chlorophenoxycarboxylic acids, phenols and chlorophenols, and for converting lipids and triglycerides into FAMEs. Simply add the reagent to the sample solution: excess reagent breaks down into volatile products in the hot GC injector, so no removal step is needed. DMF-DMA: for sterically hindered carboxylic acids, aldehydes, phenols and amines.
Fluorinated acid anhydrides convert alcohols, phenols, carboxylic acids, amines, amino acids and steroids into volatile, stable derivatives.
