Volksfest car show in 21st year
for years, some from as far away as Sher- brooke, Vermont and southern Ontario. It is a show only, without judging, so Volks drivers don’t have to have a show-ready car in order to enter. Entries included many Beetles, Golfs, Jettas, and vans, including a hippy-style painted van reminiscent of the Woodstock era. There were also several modified vehicles, such as a five-seater trike, a dune buggy, and a few trucks. Parts were available for sale from some entrants, as well as from Volksfest parts in Embrun. Cambridge Public School also ran a bar- becue as a fundraiser for their playground equipment.

EMBRUN | The 21st annual Volksfest car show was held in Embrun on Sunday, Au- gust 12 and featured about 150 entries. Shawn Rutters, organizer, said the event, held in Yahoo Park on Blais St., near the arena, turned out very well. A contingent of Volkswagen enthusiasts from Montreal didn’t come because of the spotty rain in the area, so numbers were down somewhat from last year. Many of the entrants have been coming
