School board prepares future negotiation guidelines

The UCDSB also placed some responsi- bility for successful negotiations on the provincial government with the third and fourth point in the guidelines. “Recommendations from the Provincial
Labour Discussions table must be fully funded so that school boards can remain fiscally responsible,” the resolution stated. “Provincial negotiations cannot destabi- lize management of school boards or af- fect the relationship of one board with another.” The fifth and final point in the resolu- tion is meant to protect the UCDSB’s own authority. “Further encroachment upon manage- ment rights will not be permitted.”
