New business organization in Russell

Member Anna Sundin of Neighbourhood Dominion Lending described the possibili- ties of group insurance for members. Rus- sell Township mayor J.P. St. Pierre discussed ways the township can assist the group’s outreach. The group hopes to fill the gap left by the closure of the former Russell Chamber of Commerce a few years ago, as well as act as a networking group. The new group was started in Septem- er under the guiding hand of Tina Collins, wner of Squirrel Strategic Development nc which operates out of the Russell Finan- ial Centre. The group is still unnamed but has al- eady set up some goals. They include an ducational component to each meeting where a member or guest could showcase what they do and how they do it. They also lan that each monthly meeting include a hot topic”, of issues relevant to local busi- esses. This evening’s topic was how to for- malize the group to be effective. They discussed engaging the community
