about these projects? “I love festival shows, a big stage, an audience present in the studio, a good song and the performers who present themselves at that festival. I always look forward to the period of the year when we prepare the na- tional selection for Serbia’s represent- ative at the Eurovision Song Con- test. Konstrakta really won over the hearts of the whole nation, but also Europe, last year. She relayed an im- portant and universal message. We were all impressed, and I hope we will have such charismatic and special representatives again in the future. There is always a sense of responsi- bility when you have to guide view- ers through such a programme, but I enjoy that role and don’t feel bur- dened by it, on the contrary.” The national selection for the Eurovision Song Con- test has experienced some- thing of a renaissance in recent years, reaching an enviable production lev- el. What can the audience expect this year and are preparations already un- derway? “Preparations for such a major project start months in advance. Mu- sic editors are already dealing with the compositions that have arrived for the competition, the scenogra- phy is already being discussed, as are the overall aesthetics of the show, the presenters, the script. Last year’s RTS production really received a lot of compliments, deservedly so, and we now need to shift the boundaries.” Do you like to travel and how are your experiences with our Air Serbia? “I love to travel, because chang- ing my surroundings always brings me new energy and an altered per- spective. I’ve made some of my best life decisions during my travels, in- spired by a different culture, atmos- phere and the spirit of the cities I’ve visited. When it comes to Air Serbia, all that matters to me is that I feel comfortable and safe, and I have no complaints in that regard. I’m one of those who’s always impatient to arrive at my destination!”

Volim da putujem, jer mi promena okruženja

uvek donese novu energiju i promenu perspektive. Neke od najboljih životnih odluka donosila sam na putovanjima I love to travel, because changing my surroundings always brings me new energy and an altered perspective. I’ve made some of my best life decisions during my travels

It was obvious that the loss- es of our football team hit you really hard. What is it like when you have to over- come your emotions during a live broadcast? “We are always filled with emo- tion and hope when watching the performances of our athletes at ma- jor sporting events. It seems to me that the FIFA World Cup also brings a special sense of euphoria, and thus commonly also great expectations. We didn’t even try to overcome our emotions. After the games, we guided the viewers through the programme professionally and in a measured way, and always ended the show with a smile and the message “we’re mov- ing on”. That’s the only proper atti- tude, both in sport and life.” There were many who com- mented that you were the most beautiful “pearl of the desert”. Does it bother you that people constantly focus on your appearance, or are you already used to that? “It doesn’t bother me. I’ve been receiving enough professional ac- knowledgement for years, so that’s not something I yearn for. It’s always pleasant to hear nice words, but the truth is that neither compliments nor

criticisms influence the way I eval- uate my own work. I am ultimate- ly my own harshest critic; I always find something that “should” have been better.” You’ve spent a long time hosting one of the most popular entertainment shows on television, the quiz “I love Serbia”. What is the most interesting thing about Serbia that you’ve learnt on this show? “Through each episode, we re- mind people of significant person- alities, events, cultural elements and important historical facts that should be part of our collective memory. Through the five seasons that I’ve done, I’ve learnt much more than I could include in this answer. That’s why people love the show.” If someone were to ask you why you love Serbia, what would you single out first? “It’s because of the special peo- ple who live there. People with big hearts and open arms, who welcome everyone with a smile, even in diffi- cult times.”

You also presented the na- tional selection for the Eu- rovision Song Contest. What do you like the most
