CIBSE, WiBSE Ireland and the Young Engineers Network have joined Kerrigan Mechanical Ltd for a walk through of its installation at Glass Bottle in Dublin. The contractor has delivered a complete mechanical services package across the first two phases of the new urban quarter under construction by Dublin Bay. Totalling 894 rental apartments, amenities and retail across four blocks, the project features a renewable-led centralised plantroom incorporating heat pumps and CHP technology. It is district-ready, with plans to connect to the Dublin Waste-to- Energy facility. Each apartment is fitted with a heating substation to meter usage and provide instantaneous hot water, and a heat recovery ventilation system. Other mechanical elements include dry risers for fire protection system, a gym AC system and fire-rated smoke ventilation for car park areas.
