The IRON issue

Most parents will know that iron is important for energy production in children; however, the fact that it is also central to the health of their immune systems is less likely to be front of mind. In fact, iron is critical for a wide range of vital functions in a child’s body. In addition to maintaining energy levels, it supports production of healthy red blood cells and supports immune system function. During periods of rapid growth, a child’s needs for iron also increase dramatically.
