Hospo Go
We continue our focus on engaging with students to highlight the various career opportunities within the Hospitality and Tourism industry. We have recently attended expos at Hobart College, St Michaels Collegiate, Reece High School, St Virgil’s College, Glenorchy Job Hub, Burnie High School and Campbell Town District High. Attendees have enjoyed interacting with our team and walk away with a better understanding of what the industry can offer.
After last year’s successful pilot program in Launceston, we are looking at supporting the program this year in both Hobart and Launceston. There were learnings and great feedback from the pilot program last year. Some of the key learnings were getting the balance right with theory and practical, making the industry sessions more hands on, providing knowledge that then generated confidence within the students and feeling ready for the next step into VET courses and employment. The feedback from the service event was positive, staff were very friendly, servers were engaging and communicated where we were at in each stage of service, students were very personable and professional and the seat allocation allowed you to engage with people that you may not normally do.
