4th Quarter Crime Report 2019

LEO Class #6 Graduation Congratulations to the graduates of the Lateral Entry Officer (LEO) Class #6 who graduated on October 11. LEOs have previous law enforcement experience. The class resulted in a total of 16 new officers on the streets of Fort Worth. The officers have been assigned to patrol divisions to begin the next phase of training.

National Night Out On October 1, 2019 the City of Fort Worth took part in National Night Out. National Night is an annual communi- ty-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. Over 230 participants registered and held events citywide. Neighborhood Police Officers (NPOs) attended events within their neighborhoods along with other City depart- ments including Code Compliance and the Fire Depart- ment.

St. Jude No Shave November For the first time in the history of the Fort Worth Police Department, officers were allowed to grow beards for the #NoShaveNovember event as long as they donated to the St. Jude Children's Research Center. Over $21,000 was raised by Fort Worth Police Department employees.

Fort Worth Police Teen Academy Graduation

Congratulations to the 52 local students who graduated from the Fort Worth Police Teen Academy on November 21. The eight week course covers an array of subjects including police training and criminal investigations. The program allows participants an opportunity to learn about the daily operations of the Fort Worth Police Department.

On October 26, the Fort Worth Police Department hosted the annual Trunk or Treat event at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex. Approximately 800 children and parents came out and enjoyed great weather while attendees walked from booth to booth and collected candy, prizes, and participated in fun Halloween activities.
