M@C Discount grows regional presence with three new locations in 2021 Cushman & Wake fi eld | Grant Street Associates represent lessee in 165,000 s/f transaction
ITTSBURGH, PA — M@C Discount, a Pitts- burgh-based online bid- ding platform that provides customers the opportunity to purchase merchandise a t w h o l e - sa l e pr i ces through daily onl ine auc - tions, has ex- ecuted a lease for i ts sev- enth Western Pennsylvania l ocat i on at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills in Fraz- er Twp. The company has signed on P Evan Cicirello Darin Shriver
this year, following a second location in Butler for 50,000 s/f at the Greater Butler Mart and their new flagship location at the former Macy’s department store in Washington Crown Center. In just three years, the company has grown from its humble beginnings to a rec- ognizable brand in the region, now employing over 150 people. Evan Cicirello and Da- rin Shriver of Cushman & Wakefield | Grant Street Associates , who represent M@C Discount in their ex- pansion efforts, successfully negotiated the leases for the new Butler and Pittsburgh Mills locations, as well as the 147,608 s/f lease of the for- mer Macy’s department store which had been vacant since Macy’s closed its doors in 2017.
The company currently main- tains facilities in Beaver Falls, Butler, McKees Rocks and Washington and expects the PittsburghMills andWashing- ton Crown Center locations to open by year-end, and Butler Mart to be fully operational in Q1 2022. “We are thrilled to represent a thriving and relevant busi- ness as they seek to further secure their foothold in the market. These former big box spaces present a unique op- portunity for M@C Discount to revitalize retail centers and better service their customers in already strong markets,” said Evan Cicirello, senior vice president. M@C founders Shawn Allen and Kellen Campbell lever- aged their deep knowledge of
logistics and online auctions to create a solution for major retailers such as Amazon, Kohl’s, Lowe’s and others to offload returned merchandise while simultaneously opening a portal for savvy Pittsburgh shoppers to pick up high- demand merchandise at a fraction of typical retail prices. M@C auctions off truckloads of merchandise it purchases from these retailers via its online bidding platform, and winning bidders are directed to pick up their items at one of the local facilities. “Since M@C Discount re- quires all bidders to pick-up their winnings at one of our warehouses, it was critical to expand our geographic foot- print,” says co-founder Kellen Campbell.
