It argues that the success of the transition and the consolidation of democracy in Sudan depends on the performance of the political class. Despite repeated failures in previous experiences, failure this time will see the country reverting to tyranny or sliding into chaos. Abstract: This study analyses the perceptions of Iraq’s October 2019 protests in Shiite- majority areas, particularly in central and southern Iraq, and indicates a change in the pattern of Shiite political sociology that produced the post- 2003 authority. It is divided into two main themes: Shiite political sociology, and the perceptions of protest in the Shiite environment. Abstract: In 2014, a French-sponsored group of five Sahel states emerged to cooperate in protecting the security of their borders from cross-border insurgent groups. However, their external dependency and inertia may compromise their security instead of protect it. To study the matter in question, Abdennour Benantar authored a book entitled, “Security Initiatives in the Maghreb and the Sahel: Five Sahel States at Stake,” analysing the initiatives behind the establishment of this assemblage and its areas of cooperation and its efficacy, as well as evaluating the conditions of rectifying its shortcomings or its potential dissolution.
