W ASHINGTON, DC — Skanska USA a n d Fa c c h i na Construction Company re- cently received the Excellence in Concrete Award from the National Capitol Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (NCCACI) for their work on the 11th Street Bridge project. The NCCACI award recognizes contractors that have done exceptional work on projects involving concrete, and Skan- ska Facchina earned the award by completing this project both five months ahead of schedule and under budget. The project was also recently awarded the American Road and Transpor- tation Builders Association De- velopment Foundation’s PRIDE Award, which acknowledges exceptional efforts to improve infrastructure, transportation and design in the U.S. by in- dividuals, businesses, public agencies and all related indus- try associations. SkanskaUSA and JVpartner Facchina started work on the 11th Street Bridge project, part of the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative, in 2009.
