he clocked is another 2021 pigeon who earlier in the season won 1st Open NEPC, her dam and sire are both direct Luc Christieans pigeons obtained in 2014, they have bred many winners right through to National level. The third on the clock was a yearling hen who has been one of the most consistent birds all season winning many high open positions in the NEPC and also Northern Classic. Her sire was bred for stock being a son of ‘Mother Special One’ he is already father to 2x1st Section in the MNFC. Her dam is ‘Paula Radcliffe’ 2nd Ace pigeon long distance 2017 & 1st Ace pigeon long distance 2018 MNFC Section. She is mother and grandmother to Fed, Section, Open & NIPA winners. First & 2nd South Centre Section and 30th & 54th Open was Mr & Mrs J Wright. Jeremy shared with me his winning hen from Weymouth was a four year old pigeon, sent sitting eggs. First North Centre Section and 35th Open was Mr John McNamee. Second & 4th North Centre Section and 36th & 52nd Open was Edge & Westwood. Who said that their 2nd placed hen was a Van Loon bred by David Boot and she has won many club prizes. Third North Centre Section and 48th Open was D Kelby. First, 3rd & 4th West North Section and 39th, 44th & 50th Open was T Webster. Tim shared with me that the hen he timed first is a Van Den Bulck x Heremans-Ceusters the sire is from R & D Hunt a grandson of ‘Gode Rode’ and ‘Vale Dirk’ and the dam is a granddaughter of ‘De Jan’ and a full sister to

pigeon all her life. She’s bred from the late Barry Nickel Kee’s Bousa strain with Peter buying her parents from the late Barry Nickels clearance sale. The Gold Ring Race was really well supported again this season with a total of £3,861 in the prize pot. As previously mentioned the top four positions were collected by: 1st & 2nd Doug & Mark Nesbitt & Sons (SW Section) and 4th & 5th Mr Terry Higgs (NC Section). 1st South East Section was won by Mr John Bellerby; 1st West Section was won by Ian Arnold & David Johnson; 1st South Centre was won by E Kamberi; 1st North East Section was won by Mr Simon Parkinson; 1st North West Section was won by Mr Paul Grayson. Onto the final event of the weekend the Peter Tisdale holding his West Section winner.

2nd, 3rd & 9th Open was Mr & Mrs Eric Corckett & Sons. Glen shared with me their 2nd Open Old Hens was bred by Mark Darby from his David Pieters ‘Pitbull’ lines. She was used as a Widowhood hen during the old bird season. She was then trained with the young birds and sent as a trainer with the Midshires Fed on Saturday racing with the young birds. The week before she was sent to NFC Carentan, and she was their fifth bird home. She was sent to Weymouth while sitting on a four day old youngster. Fourth South East Section and 13th Open was Ron Fullbrook. Ron shared with me that his hen was purchased last year and is a Doug & Mark Nesbitt & Sons 1st & 2nd Old Hens Classic.

He then suffered from young bird sickness just before he started training, which led to him feeling like he was always playing catch up. So, Terry was over the moon with his Weymouth result. Herman, she has been very consistent this year and already scored in both club and Federation and would have won the Federation from Guernsey had his clock not suffered a power outage! First, 2nd, 3rd & 4th North East Section and 5th, 6th, 14th & 15th Open was Simon Parkinson. Simon had a great weekend racing also coming 2nd & 3rd Section in the young bird race. He told me he would like to start by congratulating Mark Nesbitt on winning the MNFC Old Hens, what a season Mark has had. Simon had a great race with the Old Hens National, sent 14 birds and having nine in the top 23 positions including the first nine in the North East Section. These hens all season have put up some super performances winning high open positions in the North East Provincial, Northern Classic and now MNFC. The pigeons were all flown on the Widowhood arriving back to their mates. Simon had three pigeons arrive together followed by several more very close behind. His first on the clock is a 2021 pigeon that has won many prizes on the road, her sire is a direct Jochem van Hasselt and her dam the great breeder ‘Miss Reliable’. The second pigeon

Midlands National Young Bird Exchange Race. First place was flown by Purchase & Walker and bred by D & T Sherratt with £1200 (£600 each) being split between them; 2nd place was flown by N Darby and bred M Porter; 3rd place was flown by R & B Smith and bred by G Cole; 4th place was won by G Unsworth & Son and bred by J Winstanley. This was a great new initiative created by Andy Seymour and added an extra element to the competition as well as encouraging new networks and relationships to be formed within the racing fraternity. Apologies to those members that either sent information and pictures too late to feature in the report, or that sent information based on provisional results. These reports are created based on the final result and top four places recorded in each section. is a Flor Van Loock from Ireland, and the dam is from Clive Lister and is a Gaby Vandenabeele. I race my young birds on the dark system and trained three times a week. Third West North Section and 191st Open was K Taylor. Kenny shared a great picture of him and his grandson Harley holding his 3rd placed pigeon. The pigeon is a Jan Theelan. Fourth West North Section did not appear in the result. Fifth West North Section and 224th Open was J S Hampson. Now moving onto the Aviform Old Hens Classic. Winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Southwest Section & 1st, 2nd, 8th & 10th Open was Doug & Mark Nesbitt & Sons. Mark told me their first bird is a Leo Hermans though Mark’s ‘Isla’ line x Bill North hen, who was 6th Open MCC Guernsey winning £600. Their second bird that dropped at the same time as the first is off Mark’s inbred ‘Sagan’ cock cross with a daughter of ‘Isla’ one of his best breeding hens. What a fantastic weekend this team had winning two Sections, an Open and the Gold Ring race all in the same weekend, super flying! First, 2nd & 3rd South East Section and

She is only a yearling and has been beaten by loft mates a few times for 1st Club all her sisters/half-sisters have won for Tim and their sire is turning into a real good breeder for him. Tim sent six and all six returned in excellent condition considering how hot the day was, so, credit to the convoyor and the wagon. Second West North Section and 41st Open was G Maskill. First North West Section and 46th Open was Bennett & Cain. Who shared with me their Section winners hen’s sire was purchased from J & S Ward in 2019, her dam was bred from Sam Whitworth out of his 3CC Combine winner and has also had a 3rd North West Classic from Guernsey in 2022. She was also 2nd Section 4th Open MNFC Old Hens in 2022 beaten by (loft mate) in the Section. She was sent to Carentan this year with the NFC OB the week before the MNFC where she was 6th Section L 45th Open flying 295 miles, so she is some pigeon.
