Pierre Lemieux smiled as he thanked supporters during a somber gathering in Rockland late Monday night that saw him lose his bid to become MP again for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell and his rival Francis Drouin returned as the riding’s representative in a minority Liberal government. i8FGPVHIUBHPPEFMFDUJPOCBUUMF uIF TBJE EVSJOHBMBUFOJHIUBQQFBSBODF&MFDUJPO
Pierre Lemieux, accompanied by his wife, Audrey, gave a concession speech to his Conservative party supporters late Monday night at the G.A.B.s bistro in Rockland in which he thanked them for their support and also wished incumbent Liberal MP Francis Drouin success with his second mandate as Glengarry-Prescott-Russell’s representative in the new minority Liberal government. Drouin won more than 47.5 per cent of the vote in the riding compared to Lemieux’s 33.8 per cent.
