Nagy Family Dental - October 2019

With the spookiest day of the year fast approaching, there’s nothing like a scary movie night to get the whole family into the Halloween spirit. The only problem is most frightful films really aren’t for kids, and the ones that are often fall flat. But, if you’re looking for a flick that will have the whole family on the edge of their seats (without traumatizing anyone), consider our top three picks for scary, family-friendly movies. NO. 3: ‘GHOSTBUSTERS’ “Who you gonna call” to be high on this list? The 1984 spectral classic, “Ghostbusters.” While this may be more of an action- comedy, plenty of scares and creepy imagery still get a jump out of first-time watchers young and old alike. If you’re looking for a lighthearted movie night that still captures a Halloween feel, “Ghostbusters” is a great choice. NO. 2: ‘CORALINE’ Few authors weave creepiness with coming-of-age stories together better than Neil Gaiman, and his 2009 film “Coraline” proves just that. Based on Gaiman’s book of the same name, director Henry Selick uses his signature stop-motion animation style to bring the script to life. While young children may find the doll-like imagery too unsettling, this is a great introductory thriller for preteens. NO. 1: ‘SCOOBY-DOO ON ZOMBIE ISLAND’ Yes, a Scooby-Doo movie is at the top of this list — and it deserves to be. As the feature-length debut of Scooby, Shaggy, and the rest of the Mystery Gang, this 1998 film doesn’t pull any punches. While the hand-drawn animation and slapstick high jinks of the original Hanna-Barbera cartoon are all there, make no mistake: There are some creepy moments in this movie. Between scary zombie elements and a spooky Voodoo doll scene, this is the perfect film to get your kids into the Halloween spirit. For the Whole Family! Scary Movies

Celebrating Education

Dr. Nagy Becomes an American Sleep and Breathing Academy Diplomate Education is a cornerstone of Nagy Family Dental Group. It’s something we all cherish because we know the doors it opens. From our administrative team to our dentists, education has been paramount in giving us the skills and knowledge we need to serve our patients at the level of quality they’ve come to expect. Continuing education and training help us serve our patients better and allow us to provide up-to- date services and treatments. For Dr. Nagy, education was crucial in his pursuit of a career in dentistry and finding his passion for helping people. His experiences at The Ohio State University were definitive in setting him on the path to a career focused on giving and serving others. When it comes to sleep breathing disorders, we are on the forefront, staying up to date on sleep breathing disorders and the upper airway’s relation to dentistry and how we can help diagnose and treat them. We’ve taken every opportunity to learn more and prepare ourselves to better serve our patients in this realm. Last month, Dr. Nagy reached another milestone in his dental career when he became a diplomate for the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, an organization that focuses on breathing and wellness for providers. The certification acknowledges that a provider has reached a higher level of training, and it signifies their dedication to their profession. To receive this distinction, Dr. Nagy completed rigorous training and then had to qualify for the credential. He will bring his advanced knowledge regarding obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep breathing disorders to help our patients improve their quality of life. It will also allow him to further serve our community and share it with other clinics and providers, fulfilling our mission to be generous citizens in every way possible.

We are so happy to recognize the achievement of our founder. We know this will be a benefit to you and all of our patients!
