ty Context

• Works with the Project Team and appointed contractor to carry out a post tender Value for Money review to consider any alternative technical solutions offered to ensure best value is achieved. • Takes a leading role in introducing the requirements of the BSRIA “Soft Landings” methodology to tender documents for Major and Minor Capital Projects. • Develops, monitors and reviews procedures for the commissioning & handover of building engineering services for Major & Minor Capital & Revenue (LTM) projects in conjunction with the Senior Capital Projects Manager(s), Engineering Maintenance Manager and Design Group Manager. • Works with Capital Projects and Design Group Teams to ensures that appropriate client training programmes are incorporated into project schedules and ensures, in liaison with the Engineering Maintenance & Service Managers, that relevant maintenance staff attend as required. • Develops, in conjunction with the Engineering Services Manager and Facilities Engineers, design & operational strategies and standards for the effective utilisation of the Building Management System on new and refurbishment projects for incorporation into University Engineering Standards and Consultant Briefing information. • Coordinates, in conjunction with the CAD Manager, the development of combined engineering services drawings for University premises. • Develops & implements, in conjunction with the Maintenance Planning & Systems Manager, a standard format for the provision of project engineering asset information to facilitate entry into the Planon maintenance management system. • Works with the Engineering Maintenance Manager to improve standardisation of engineering components & assists in identifying any additional stock spares requirements in conjunction with the Maintenance Planning & Systems Manager. • Liaises with the M&E consultants, Resident Engineer/COW and M&E contractor to monitor progress of M&E installation work to ensure that the expected standards are being delivered. • Works as part of the project delivery team to set standards and agree a regime for the commissioning, testing and handover of all M&E systems, plant and equipment and that it is carried out to the University’s satisfaction in accordance with the design and specification. • Works with the project delivery team to set the standard and format for the production and handover of all relevant Statutory Regulations, H&S files, Building Manuals (logbooks) & Building User Guides and review to check that all information is delivered in accordance with agreed criteria. • Following Practical Completion, work with the Project Manager during the defects liability period to assist to resolve any outstanding technical issues on M&E systems. • Develops and maintains quality working relationships with all Client Departments in order to deliver a high quality efficient and effective service. • Maintains effective communication and co-ordinates activities with other FRCS colleagues, in particular with the Capital Projects Team, Engineering Maintenance & Service Team and the Design Group. • Produces and presents documentation and analysis to FRCS and University Senior Management teams as required regarding the operation, design & future development of the site engineering services.
