49th NSRA Western Street Rod Nationals
A lways a warm retreat for those attending, the 49th Western Street Rod Nationals were held at the Kern County Fairgrounds, April 24-26. Early arrivals headed out to Old School Speed Shop where a Thursday evening Kick-Off Party was in full swing. Bakersfield, California, attracts rodders anxious to hit the road after the cool days of winter, tinkering and dreaming of cruising. As the first event of the 2026 NSRA rodding event season, it kicked off Friday morning when the OFCC Host Club from nearby Wasco and Visit Bakersfield hosted a Continental Breakfast. Before everybody began checking out the show highlights, including the Swap Meet coordinat- ed by Ted Wieseman and Women’s World coordinated by Sandy Phillips, participants visited reg- istration where they were greeted by Lynn Adams, Belinda Steele, Arleen Bailey, Melinda Johnson, Michelle Chopin, and volunteers from the Corvettes of Bakersfield. The dynamic team of Toni and Paula Draeger gathered 30 ladies for the Sanderson Headers- sponsored Ladies Tea. “Vinyl 101” entertained the cruisin’ participants both Friday and
