Wilmington Country Club is a member of the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) and the Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia (WGAP). The club charges a handicap fee annually to all members who request a World Handicap System Handicap Index. Our handicaps are administered through GAP, one of the 58 state and regional golf associations that make up the United States Golf Association (USGA). The USGA and The R&A are the governing bodies of golf throughout the world.
18

Your Handicap Index is a portable number that represents your demonstrated ability. When you play different courses, you have a Playing or Course Handicap for each course, depending on the difficulty of the course and the tees you play.
18

To see what your Course Handicap is for a specific course, open the GHIN app and click on “More.” Choose Handicap Calculator and click on the name of a course where you have played and posted a score. You will see a set of numbers: H.I. is your Handicap Index, C.H. is your Course Handicap, and P.H. is your Playing Handicap FOR THAT COURSE.
18

Most Improved Golfer This award is given to the ACTIVE player whose handicap has improved the most from May 1 to September 30. The award is given for A, B, C and D categories.
18
