broadcasting the gospel. This month’s quick survey of recent developments reveals the following information. 1. The Bible Institute of Los Ange les, Inc., has been issued a construc tion permit for an FM radio station in San Diego, California. It is contem plated that this facility will be on the air in about six months time. Naturally we at BIOLA are extremely thrilled about this sister station to Los Angeles outlet KBBI, now on the air 16 hours daily since May 2. Mr.

Dr. Turner As long as we’re writing about HCJB, we want to salute Dr. and Mrs. Don Turner of the “Bible Insti tute of the Air,” which has been sending forth the message of eternal life for 10 years now from the Quito transmitters. Correspondence courses in many different languages are being sent to thousands of people around the world. Pictured above is Dr. Turner at his desk. In further missionary radio activity, the Carribean Broadcasting Associa tion has been formed in Los Angeles. President David Crane is now in Trinidad expediting the securing of a license so that funds may be raised for the project. Board members gathered at a recent meeting in Los Angeles.

2. Rev. Demcy Mylar in Portland, Oregon has announced the securing of KPAM and KPFM in that impor tant Northwest city. By the time of this publication, the station will no doubt be broadcasting the Gospel mes sage daily. Mr. Mylar and his associ ates formerly owned KRWC, Forest Grove, Oregon, operating it as a Chris tian station. 3. Rev. Wilbur Nelson, director of the Morning Chapel Hour, and first president of the California Bible Broadcasters and Telecasters headed a program of radio evangelism in the group’s first public meeting held several weeks ago. The projected plans for the organization reveal an excellent structure for Christian broadcasters throughout the country. Other officers include Dr. T. Myron Webb, Dr. Jack MacArthur and Dr. William Orr. 4. Joe Springer, Television Director of the World Radio Missionary Fel lowship (HCJB) has written that the newspaper union of Ecuador has asked that his group televise the in dustrial exhibit to be held in Quito, August 10-30. The problem has been that WRMF has no license. “We told the men that if they got the license we would do our best.” From all in dications, this may be the means of establishing the first missionary tele vision station in the world. Let us all pray for the staff and work of HCJB and particularly this television out reach. Perhaps we will be able to do a complete story of this venture for

Your interest is appre ciated. We expect to visit many of the Christian stations across the country in August and hope to bring readers pictures and more information.
