ments, this volume contains a brief life of Cruden, alphabetical list of Bible proper names with their mean ings in the original languages, a concordance of the Apocrypha, a com- • peniuxti or chapter by chapter sum mary of the entire Bible, and other helpful features. Apart from those which distinguish between the origin al words back of the English trans lation, this is the most complete con cordance we have seen. 719 pages; cloth; Baker Book House, Grand Rap ids, Mich.; $5.95. The editor has gleaned these 26 sermon themes from Matthew Hen ry’s celebrated commentary. The words of the original author have been retained, but the material has been rearranged to make it more readily usable. Each sermon theme is accompanied by a concise outline. An alphabetical arrangement of the topics, as Ascension, Atonement, Born Again, Christ, Church, and Disciple- ship, is an aid to the use of the book by ministers. 254 pages; cloth; Van Kampen Press, Wheaton, 111.; $4.50. When the author was pastor of Westminster Chapel, near Bucking ham Gate, in London, his Sunday sermons were printed weekly in pam phlets, entitled The Westminster Pul pit. A comparatively few annual vol umes of these were published from 1906 to 1916, and only those who have tried to purchase them, even to advertising in the book markets of the world, know how scarce they are. The republication of this set is a matter of rejoicing, but the reviewer is troubled to discover that in the first volume, the only one thus far received, only 26 sermons are pub lished of the 52 in Volume 1 of the original set—just half of the original material. While a few of the omitted messages are found in other books, a great loss will be sustained if the rest of the 10 volumes in the reprint set are as selective as the one we have examined. 351 pages; cloth; Fleming H. Revell Company, West- wood, N.J.; $4.00 per volume. THE KING'S BUSINESS Bible Themes from Matthew Henry Edited by Selwyn Gummer The W estm inster Pulpit By G. Campbell Morgan

F ifty-Two Sermons By Horatius Bonar

This is the first volume of the publisher’s projected Co-operative Re print Library, twelve well-known works at present out of print. The author was an outstanding evangeli cal minister of the Free Church of Scotland during the nineteenth cen tury—widely known for his sermons and his hymns. These 52 sermons were originally published under the title, Family Sermons. This is real Scottish preaching — keen analysis, fiery eloquence, the pleading invita tion. Not all published sermons carry conviction, but this cannot be charged to Bonar’s work. 464 pages; cloth; Baker Book House, Grand Rapids, Mich.; $4.25 (subscription, $3.40). Installation services and their plan ning often fall to the lot of the pastor or director of Christian Education. A discussion of the various elements which must be considered is followed by 27 planned services, complete with Scripture readings, illustrations, hymns, poetry, prayers, and charges to various officers. This book should be on the shelf of church offices. 208 pages; cloth; Fleming H. Revell Com pany, Westwood, N.J.; $2.50. Since its 'first publication in 1898 this Bible dictionary has been in the hands of the public; it reached its final form under the hand of the au thor in the fourth edition of 1924. Since that date various changes were introduced by the publishers, fre quently in the interest of the liberal position. Baker Book House now re prints the fourth edition in its origi nal form—-one of the finest Bible dic tionaries. No other single Volume dictionary of the Bible equals "it for scholarship, completeness, and loyalty to the Scriptures. 840 pages; cloth; Baker Book House, Grand Rapids, Mich.; $5.95.
