Pink & Blue Fall 2026

sounds that work. Maybe it’s Taylor Swift, jazz, opera, the hum of the dishwasher, or the roar of the vacuum. Whatever it is, remember it! (We’re not suggesting you blast the vacuum beside a newborn’s ear, however.) 17. Build a post-bath station before the bath. SITUATION: Your baby is wet and slippery, and the clean diaper is nowhere to be found. HACK: Have the towel open, diaper ready, and pajamas laid out before bath time begins. 18. Restock the diaper bag when you get home. Make it part of your coming-home rou- tine so you don’t discover an empty wipes container when you’re trying to get out the door next time. And while you’re at it, keep an emergency baby kit in the car with dia- pers, wipes, a spare outfit, and other basics. Adults Hacks Count, Too 19. Keep a running pediatrician note in your phone. SITUATION: Your baby did something

13. Wash tiny socks in a mesh laundry bag. Doing this ensures one bag goes into the washer, and one comes back out. No more wondering where six tiny socks disappeared! 14. Keep an outgrown-clothes basket besides the dresser. If an item is too small, toss it straight into this basket instead of accidentally putting it back in the drawer. And while you’re at it, keep the next size washed and ready—just a few basics for when a growth spurt seem- ingly happens overnight (because it will). Tackling the Day-to-Day 15. Keep a “soothing station” on your phone. Curate a quick list of tricks to try when you’re too tired to think: carrier, walk, rock, shush, song, feed, change of scenery…the list goes on. Sometimes you just need a little reminder of what worked last time. 16. Find your baby’s tune! SITUATION: You’ve tried rocking, walking, and shushing, and your baby is still unhappy. HACK: Pay attention to the oddly specific

weird Tuesday night, but by the appoint- ment Friday morning, you’ve forgotten what you wanted to ask. HACK: Keep a shared note with your part- ner and add questions as they come up. You can even use it as a general list for remind- ers and supplies, too. 20. Put household necessities on subscriptions or automatic reorder when it makes sense. Diapers, wipes, formula, soaps, and other everyday essentials are easy to forget until you’re suddenly out. 21. Ask for dinner instead of another baby gift. When family and friends ask what they can bring, request groceries, a meal, or even coffee, because sometimes the most helpful gift is one less thing to do. You won’t need every hack on this list, and you’ll probably come up with a few of your own along the way. But if even one of these saves you a trip across the house, a 3 a.m. headache, or a missing baby sock, we’ll call that a win!
