small rebel groups to create the Mujahideen Shura Council. Later that year, the council joined even more jihadi groups, creating the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). From then on, ISI began to plan to take over parts of Iraq and turn them into an Islamic caliphate. ISI gained more people and became stronger. The US also gained more troops and killed many people high in the ranks of ISI. To escape this, ISI moved to areas in Syria such as Mosul. ISI was seriously weakened by the US. In 2010, ISI got a new leader, Abu Bakr al- Baghdadi. The new leader rebuilt ISI by appointing those who fought for Iraq in the Iraq War as leaders. In 2012, al-Baghdadi said that ISI were moving back to where the US had removed them from. As the Syrian Civil War escalated, al- Baghdadi took the chance to send some troops to the weakened Syria to gain territory. The Syrian branch then re-established themselves as the al- Nusra Front. The al-Nusra front detached themselves from al-Qaeda when they were created. The ISI merged with the al-Nusra front as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham. In 2014, ISI declared themselves the Islamic State and claimed they had control over all Muslims. They began to attract young Muslims who were radicalized by radical mosques and social media pages. They also claimed to be responsible for attacks on hotels in Tunisia and the horrific attacks on Paris in November. ISIS have been getting money from oil fields on their land. Some say that the Syrian government actually buys oil from ISIS. There are many conspiracy theories, such as the US being behind the group and that al- Baghdadi is working for the Israeli government, but they are probably untrue. There are over 60 countries directly or indirectly at war with ISIS. David Cameron and the rest of Parliament are debating whether to start airstrikes on Islamic State. What do you think about this? Teymour Taj, 7E Hackers here to help, or are they ? Anonymous, a society that has fought governments worldwide, is planning to destroy Islamic State. ‘We are Anonymous. We do not forgive, we do not forget. Expect us.’ As part of the ‘war’ against IS, Anonymous released several guides aimed to teach everyone how to hack IS websites. The hacking group, founded in 2003 are

once again peace in this world.” Others support Sam’s point of view like Thomas who said “I don’t really mind if this group continues to send threats to IS, since it isn’t really affecting us- is it?” Overall, this is a mix of opinions. However, I believe there isn’t really a choice. Firstly, because people’s points of view aren’t really counted in these type of situations. Moreover, these hackers are expert and if the government haven’t already ceased this case, I don’t think they ever will stop ‘Anonymous’. For now, we will just have to hope that these Islamic extremists stop harming this world. Miguel Perez Coronel, 7W ISIS The Paris Attacks On November 14 a day dawned and very soon people found out that it was a day of hell. People even queued up to donate blood. France and England played a game of football which was mostly played to be an act of defiance. Max Franklin Davis, 7E ISIS - THE STORY ISIS was founded in 1999 as ‘ Jamāʻat al- Tawḥīd wa-al-Jihād’ meaning ‘Organization of monotheism and jihad’.
