Description of Chrysanthemum Flower Petals Daisy - Daisy chrysanthemums are characterized by their distinct flower heads, which feature a raised, circular Duplex - Duplex chrysanthemums are a classic mum featuring blooms with two distinct rows of ray petals (florets)
center disk surrounded by flat, radiating petals. Botanically, the petals are known as "ray florets" (the showy outer layer) and the center consists of "disk florets".
surrounding a clearly visible central disc. They resemble large daisy-like flowers, but with a fuller, layered appearance thanks to the double row of petals.
Incurve - Petals curve smoothly upward and inward to form a massive, dense, spherical ball. Irregular incurves feature the largest blooms (often 6–8 inches across) with loosely closed centers and a "skirted" effect.
Daisy Spoon - A daisy spoon mum is a unique variety of chrysanthemum featuring daisy-like flowers with distinctive, spoon-shaped petals.
Decorative - A decorative mum is characterized by large, full, and flattened blooms. These popular florist-quality flowers feature a high petal count where the upper petals curve inward toward the center while the lower petals curve outward, creating a lush, dense floral appearance.
Spider - Spider Chrysanthemums (or spider mums) are known for their exotic, spidery blooms, which get their dramatic look from long, thin, tubular petals. These spindly florets can vary in size and shape, often curling or coiling at the ends.
