Trees from the street spread their limbs across the room, working their way along the furniture and every little feature of the room. But then it was gone. Suddenly she was alone again, as she allowed the darkness to engulf her once more. She had planned everything for this moment. Every response he could give, Lucy would have an answer; from, ‘I can explain…’ to ‘You can’t be here’. Lucy would have some sort of sharp and witty response. She rehearsed them, before checking the time again. 12:55. She stared at her watch for a little longer, before the light went out, and Lucy returned to her window. When he met her, they had to be so secretive. Tiptoeing around, playing spy, it was exciting, fun you could say. The lifestyle drew her in, like some sort of strange fantasy. But she couldn’t ignore the ever growing feeling of wrong. Lucy had never dreamed that she would do anything like that, and she was, even now, still shocked at herself. But she had grown impatient. That little niggling voice in the back of her head complained about coming second. She could have made him so much happier, yet he had to go back every night. She just wanted to blossom with his help, and to be happy. But now she was left sitting in the dark. 1:02. This moment was going to be just like she had seen on TV. The door would unlock. He would stumble in, before she turned on the light for the dramatic reveal, in the place where he least expected to see her.They would argue briefly, she would win, and then she would – what would she do?
