RUSSELL KIN CLUB MARKS SEASON SUCCESS DURING FINAL MEETING

Members of the Russell Kin Club re- flected on a very good year of work during their final meeting of the season. The Kin Club of Russell held its final meet- ing of the season June 24. This very young, very accomplished and multi-award-winning club now boasts 48 members. Part of the evening’s celebration featured recipients of UIJTZFBST3PPLJFPGUIF:FBSBOE,JOPGUIF :FBSBXBSET Kin Club President Cindy Anthony pre- TFOUFEUIF3PPLJFPGUIF:FBSBXBSEUPUXP members: Diane Lacroix and Diane Sauvé- Hayes. Both women have always lived in the area, by coincidence; both are also from the same neighbouring town of Carlsbad Springs. 5IFIPOPVSPGCFJOHOBNFE,JOPGUIF:FBS went to Doug Anthony in recognition of his leadership role in many of the club’s events and also for his mentorship of new members and new executive members over the year. Although the fiscal year is ended, the Kin Club of Russell is active in the community with event planning for the next season. Russell Township residents can expect to see the Catch the Ace project back soon

LE DRAPEAU DE LA FIERTÉ FLOTTE SUR LA NATION
12 000 $ POUR LE MONUMENT DE LA FRANCOPHONIE
Cooperators de Casselman a remis, la semaine dernière, un chèque au montant de 12 000 $ au Comité du monument de la francophonie Saint-Albert et région. Le tout a eu lieu à la Fromagerie St-Albert, puisque le monument sera installé non loin de l’entreprise. L’objectif du Comité est d’amasser 350 000 $ pour la création du monument. À l’heure d’aujourd’hui, la générosité des gens lui a permis d’amasser 315 000 $. L’inauguration du monument est prévue le 25 septembre prochain. Le 15 juillet dernier, la municipalité de La Nation a effectué le lever du drapeau de la fierté devant l’hôtel de ville de La Nation. Le drapeau flottera jusqu’au 21 juillet. Le Groupe LGBTQ+ alliés de Prescott-Russell organise des piqueniques de la fierté, dont un le 20 juillet, de 11 h à 15 h, au Parc de la Confédération, à Hawkesbury.
