Other recipient causes over the years include Juvenile Diabetes, Foundation Fighting Blindness, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, Huntington Society of Canada, among others. “[A challenge] always coming up with new creative ideas,” said McFaul. We’re going Hollywood, so ‘Russellwood’, to put our own little cap on it, to make it unique and special for the ladies that come out to support it.”The organizing committee of the event is made up of seven women, along with numerous other volunteers who work on other specific outreach tasks and all the volunteers, many of them men, who come out to work during the event. Russell Ladies Night is back, for its 15 th year, to celebrate women while raising money for an important cause. Parkinson Canada has been selected as the cause of choice for the 15 th edition of Russell Ladies Night, an annual event held on the first Friday in May at the Russell Arena. The evening consists of a silent and live auction, dinner, live music, amongst other entertainment. Every year, 100 per cent of the money raised from both the silent and live auctions is donated to the recipient cause. The money raised this year will go towards research for Parkinson Canada. “We do this out of being a true volunteer,” said Judy McFaul, Co-Chair of the Russell Ladies Night organizing committee. “What we get back out of it is that maybe we are going to make a difference, in the long run, by helping out lesser known charities. The education and awareness part of it is important as well, for all of us.” Along with a recipient cause, every Russell Ladies night has a theme. “We will be doing it Hollywood style, so we will be celebrating all the events we have had over the last 14 years,” said McFaul. “We will have a Wall of Fame, similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating
