Morgan Belser Jacksonville University ‘22 DAUGHTER OF US ARMY CAPTAIN DONNIE BELSER
M organ Belser is the daughter of fallen U.S. Army Captain Donnie Belser. “My dad was my entire world, we did almost everything together,” she explained. “He was very loving and al- ways talked me through the bad times and I knew everything was going to be okay.” Morgan was only seven years old when he passed away. With the help of Children of Fallen Patriots Founda- tion (Fallen Patriots), Morgan is studying psychology and dance at Jacksonville University. “My goal is to be a pediatric dentist or orthodontist because I want to ensure children are not scared or dread going to their next appointment.” She would also love to have a side job dancing, which is her true passion and has guided her through dark times. “My Dad started my dance career and took me to all of my first classes. When he died, I felt like I could not do anything anymore, but dance helped me come out of that and pushed me to pursue it even harder.” Morgan is a member of United We Dance, an orga- nization where women come together to teach each other different styles of dance without judgment. Her goal in life is to inspire others to do what they love. When asked what advice she would give to others going through a similar experience, Morgan says, “Sometimes it feels like no one is feeling the pain that you are in but there are more people going through the exact same thing that you are going through. There is always someone to talk to and you might just not know it at that time. Surround yourself with peo- ple and things that make you happy!” “My Dad would be proud of me for making it this far in my academic career. Fallen Patriots has given me opportunities I did not even know I had!”
