This presentation will take place in The Winners Bar. 2.23pm LEXUS MELBOURNE CUP TROPHY CEREMONY The ceremony will commence as Uncle Colin Hunter Jnr. performs the Welcome to Country. Ronan Keating will then perform “When You Say Nothing At All” before being joined by Ricki Lee for a duet on “Lovin’ Each Day”. Peter and Shane Patterson then ride in with the 2024 Lexus Melbourne Cup down Patterson Avenue before handing to Olympians Ariarne Titmus, Shane Rose and Shenae Lowings and Paralympian Alexa Leary. VRC Chairman, Mr Neil Wilson will receive the trophy and place on the Carbine Plinth before Greta Bradman performs the Australian National Anthem. 2.50pm Horses depart the Mounting Yard. 3.00pm Race 7 LEXUS MELBOURNE CUP (G1) Lexus Melbourne Cup Official Trophy Handover and Presentation Following CORRECT WEIGHT, the Chairman, Mr Neil Wilson, will escort Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Mr John Pappas, Chief Executive, Lexus Australia, to the Mounting Yard where the 2024 Lexus Melbourne Cup Trophies will be presented to the Winning Owner, Trainer and Jockey. Following the Trophy Handover, formal speeches and acknowledgements will take place. This segment will be hosted by Mr Eddie McGuire AM, Nine Network Melbourne Cup Carnival Host. 3.50pm Race 8 THE AMANDA ELLIOTT (LR) Following CORRECT WEIGHT, Mr Vin Cox, Director, will escort Ms Edwina Machado, daughter of Mrs Amanda Elliott AO, former VRC Chairman, for Presentation of the Trophy to the Winning Owner.
