3. How do you go about preparing for a set or a gig?
I’ll keep a few playlists up to date with my own music at the top of the list. I’ll usually have a good idea of which track I’ll be opening with, maybe the second or third, and the closing track. Everything else between I figure out in the moment by feeling out the energy level in the room and watching people’s reactions. 4. Can you share with us some of your most memorable performances or experiences as a DJ? Playing Coachella recently is 100% the most important show I have ever played in my career and an absolute high point. I’ve had some amazing moments though, from playing my first show outside of my home town and realisingmy music was reaching further than Joburg, to my first show outside of South Africa in Mozambique, to my first shows off the African continent in Brazil and Australia – and tons in between. One that I will never forget was a show I played on a rooftop in Sao Paolo. It wasn’t huge, around 600 people, but the energy was electric!
