A cold snap courtesy of the polar vortex arriving in Eastern Ontario over the wee- kend cancelled froze out the scheduled Sunday afternoon game between the Clarence Creek Castors and the Bytown Royals. The Castors beat the Vankleek Hill Cou- gars 7-3 Saturday night at the Vankleek Hill Arena. Patrick Lemay scored a pair of goals for Clarence Creek with the remaining points popped into the net. Scoring goals for the home team were Nikolas Ayotte, Tyler Dopelhamer, and Keean McEachern. Assisting on the scoring were Dopelhamer, McEachern, Vincent Huneault, Justin Labrosse, and Zacharie Leblanc, with Alexander Labrèche in the net. Next games for the Castorss are January 25 against the Gatineau Hull-Volant, and in Clarence Creek Sunday afternoon against the Cougars. St-Isidore The cold from the polar vortex over the weekend froze out the scheduled Sunday game between St-Isidore and Vankleek Hill. St-Isidore beat Gatineau Hull-Volant 7-2 in last Friday’s road game in Gatineau. Scoring goals for St-Isidore were Jérémie Bourgon, Jakob Brunette, Tyler Druce, Kevin Howson, Bruno Leclerc, Xavier Leclerc, and Sebastien Roy. Goal assists came from Brunette, Druce, Howson, Roy, Xavier Leclerc, Zackary Bou- gie, Patrick Charlebois, and Miguel Crispin. Dawson Irving guarded the St-Isidore net. Goals for Gatineau Hull came from Maxime Tremblay and Jeremy Trudeau. Assisting were Trudeau, Zack Labbé, and Zachary Page, with Marc-Olivier Bastien in the net. Saturday night in South Grenville the Rangers beat St-Isidore 6-1. Jeremy Arbour scored an unassisted goal for St-Isidore in the second period. Irving Dawson and Sebastien Moreau shared goal-keeping duty. Braydan Forestell popped in a pair of goals for the Rangers, with solo points for South Grenville coming from Cole Edgley, Drew Holmes, Carson Pickup, and Brody Ranger. Assisting on the goals were Edgley, Forestall, Holmes, Ranger, Cameron Dillon, Jordan Dodge, Mathieu Giroux, Joe MacLean, and Hayden Saveau. Next game for St-Isidore is at home January 27 against the West Carleton Inferno. Vankleek Hill The extreme cold from the polar vortex which settled into Eastern Ontario over the weekend cancelled the Vankleek Hill Cou- gars’ Sunday night game in St-Isidore. The game will be rescheduled. Meanwhile the Cougars faced the Clarence Creek Castors on home ice Saturday night with the visiting team taking the win 7-3. De Bourget, ON., est décédé le dimanche 20 janvier 2019, à l’âge de 85 ans. Il était l’époux de Huguette Côté, le fils de feu Omer Desforges et de feu Aimée Bougie. Il laisse ses enfants: Alain (Lynn Poirier), Gilles, Suzanne, Lyne ainsi que ses petits-enfants. Il laisse également une soeur Rejeanne, ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. Il fut prédécédé par son fils Michel et plusieurs frères et soeurs. La famille désire remercier le Dr. Daniel Séguin ainsi que le personnel de la Villa St-Luc de Curran pour les bons soins et compassion. À la demande de Marcel la cérémonie aura lieu en privée. Suddenly in hospital on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Loving father of Katherine Lee (Carlo Lacombe), Jessie Lee (Dave Neil), and Chris Lee. Dear brother of Judy, Norman, and Linda. He will be greatly missed by many extended family and friends. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd. (at Roosevelt), Ottawa on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11am - 1pm and 2pm – 4 pm. Il était le frère de : Jacqueline (feu Pierre Paul Séguin); Réjeanne (feu Frederick Horler); Robert (Claire Cadieux); Lucien (Louise Chénier); Jean-Guy (Lise Trottier) (feu Gisèle Viau); Monique (feu Philippe Régimbald), feu Yvon et Agnès (Paul Caron). Il laisse également de nombreux neveux et nièces : Manon, Sylvain, Jean, Rosanne, Éric, Amélie, Yves, François, Josée, Michel, Anik, Tanya et Christian.
