What does Limoges need?

straddles the border between Russell Town- ship and The Nation Municipality. Commit- tee members noted that both municipal councils and their staff try to encourage commercial development in their commun- ities but the final decision on investment still remains up to the business owners or franchisers themselves. Some committee members noted that many Limoges resi- dents would rather shop at home if they could do so. Others noted that the current medical clinic development project may help to encourage other businesses to set up shop in Limoges too.

LIMOGES l The Limoges Citizens Commit- tee is drawing up a list of what the village needs for the future. One itemon the list is a local grocery store to serve community needs so residents don’t have to always travel to either Em- brun or Casselman for some of their grocer- ies and other sundries or take the 417 High- way route into Orléans or Ottawa. Limoges Budget planning Just two more weeks before budget planning starts again for Russell Township municipal council. The final outline for the 2014 budget planning schedule is ready with the first public participation session set for Sept. 17 at the municipal office. The first draft budget report should be avail- able for council to start reading through on Oct. 1. Then follows the two-day budget review working sessions on Oct. 29 and 30 when council and departments’ heads determine funding priorities. The second draft budget report comes before coun- cil Nov. 4 with the second budget review working session to follow on Nov. 5 and 6 unless a schedule change is needed. The final budget report should be ready for council to review and approve by the mid- November session (GC).
