The anniversa- ry edition, presented under the theme ‘Future, Past, Present’, is a milestone fair that both re- flects on the past and looks forward to the rapid- ly evolving future. It arrives at a pivotal moment for the Gulf’s art landscape, as major interna- tional fairs enter the region and institutions across the Middle East consolidate their pres- ence. What was once described as an emerging scene is now firmly embedded within the global art circuit. Yet Art Dubai predates this latest shift. Founded in 2007 on the premise that Dubai could serve as a meeting point for artists, ideas and cultures, the fair has grown alongside the city itself. What began as an ambitious annual gathering has evolved into something more layered: part mar- ketplace, part forum, part commissioning body, part educational platform. The twentieth edition is a celebration of all that it has achieved but it also signals a new chapter as it enters its third decade. Art Dubai now positions itself as both an annual fair and a year-round cultural platform. “For 20 years Art Dubai has been instrumental in shaping Dubai’s creative identity, and it now stands as one of the world’s most distinctive art fairs in one of the world’s most dynamic and global cities,” says Dunja Gottweis, the fair’s new incoming director. “Culture and creativity are shaping a vibrant and enduring art scene in Dubai, supporting a global network of artists, gallerists, collectors and curators. They, in turn, are shaping a locally grounded and year-round living cultural ecosystem. [L-R] Art Dubai 2025. © Cedric Ribeiro and Spark Media for Art Dubai ، يُطفــــــئ معرض آرت دبي 2026 مــــــع حلول عام شــــــمعته العشــــــرين، محتفيًا بمحطّة مفصليّة في مســــــيرته الثقافيّة. وتأتي هذه الدورة الاحتفاليّة تحت عنــــــوان “المســــــتقبل، الماضــــــي، الحاضر” بوصفها لحظة للتأمّل في مســــــيرة المعرض منذ انطلاقته، وفي الوقت نفسه نافذة مفتوحة على ملامح المستقبل المتسارع في عالم الفنّ. وتأتي هذه المناسبة في لحظة حاسمة من تحوّلات المشهد الفنّي في الخليج، مع دخول معارض دوليّة كبرى إلى المنطقة، وتعزيز المؤسّسات الثقافيّة في أنحاء الشرق الأوسط حضورها وتأثيرها. فما كان يُوصَف يومًا بمشهد ناشئ بات اليوم جزءًا راسخًا من الدائرة العالميّة للفن. غير أن آرت دبي يســــــبق هذه التحوّلات الأخيرة في جذوره ومســــــيرته. فقد تأسّس المعرض عام على فكرة بسيطة وطموحة في آن واحد: 2007 أن تكــــــون دبي نقطــــــة التقاء للفنّانيــــــن والأفكار والثقافات القادمة من جهات مختلفة من العالم. ومنذ ذلك الحين، نمــــــا المعرض وتطوّر بالتوازي مع التحوّل المتسارع الذي شهدته المدينة نفسها. فمــــــا بدأ بوصفه ملتقًى ســــــنويًا طموحًا، تحوّل مع مرور الســــــنوات إلى منظومة ثقافيّة غنيّة متعددة الأبعاد: سوق للفن، ومنتدًى للحوار، ومنصّة لإنتاج الأعمال الفنّية، ومســــــاحة للتعليم وتبادل المعرفة. وتأتي الدورة العشرون احتفاء بما حقّقه المعرض على امتداد مســــــيرته، لكنّها في الوقت ذاته تفتح صفحــــــة جديدة مع دخوله عقده الثالث. إذ تحوّل آرت دبي اليوم من معرض سنوي إلى منصّة ثقافيّة نشطة تمتد برامجها على مدار العام.
