Studen ts are also brought in touch with the work clone in Los Ange les and immediate ter ri to ry amongst the l\fex­ icans . Ch inese . Japanese, E.orean s and other foreigners. School of ".\lissions. In st ruct ion is g iyen in how to organ­ ize and conduct a School of ".\fissions. a nd a training class for leade rs is held. Practical ".\I eclic ine for Outgoing ".\I is sionar ies . Thi s work is giyen in the Chri sti a n Sen·ice ".\fedical Cour se and requires one sc hool year to complete it. This third yea r work is elect iYe. and while e,·ery student contemplating work in the mi ssion field whether at home or abroad is ach ·ised to tak e it. it is not rec1uired in the ".\lissions Course. Dr. Harn· \V. B01·d. the di/ector of the course. is a practising physician' in L os Angeles, 11·ith an exuer ience a lso of more than twentl· years in the Cen­ ern l H ospita l. Canton , China. Thi s is the l;o~p ita l found ed by Dr. Peter Parker . the pioneer medical mi ss ionary to China. and 11·as the first miss iona ry hos pita l opened in any field. Dr . Boyd is assisted by a fin e staff of physicians.
