DENVER ASSOCIATION OF DIVISION ORDER ANALYSTS (DADOA) Based in the Denver, CO Area The summer has been very busy for DADOA. We have been participating in the effort to get the word out regard- ing Initiative 78 regarding a 2500 foot setback and other initiatives here in Colorado which would be so devastating to our industry and the State.

HOUSTON ASSOCIATION OF DIVISION ORDER ANALYSTS (HADOA) Based in the Houston, TX Area We kicked off the summer with the second HADOA Summer Social on June 9, 2016 at Sambuca Restaurant. The June 28, 2016 Luncheon/Seminar began with the luncheon topic on Unitization and Pooling, followed by 2 educational training sessions: the 1st on Calculating Interests and the 2nd on GIS Mapping. The July 20 Luncheon topic was the Brief History of American Oil and Gas from 1855-1947. The next

In July our luncheon speak- ers were Nancy McDonald from Anadarko Petro- leum and Jamie Jost from Jost Energy Law PC who brought a great presentation on “Statutory Pooling in

Colorado”. They gave us a great overview and addressed issues regarding unresponsive or unlocatable parties as well as cold title issues relative to pooling. At this luncheon DADOA awarded five scholarships to NADOA’s Annual Conference in Scottsdale. We are grateful to NADOA for assisting us in being able to provide these scholarships and the winners who will be attending are: Evelyn Kastner, Dijana Bishop, Kaitlin LaFlamme, Colleen Harlan and Sharon Siemer. On August 11, 2016, DADOA sponsored an all-day seminar on unclaimed property titled “A Day In the Life of Escheats and Audits” presented by William King and Samantha Petersen of KPMG.

upcoming luncheon will be on August 17, 2016 with a good registration of 134 attending members at press time. We close out the summer events with the grand finale

of NADOA’s 43rd Annual Institute on September 7th - 9th 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Check out NADOA’s website for more registration information. The HADOA board met on July 28 for its 3rd Quarter Board Meeting at the Spaghetti Warehouse. The board approved changes to the HADOA By-laws; be sure to read to stay up to date.
