red. Fold each side toward the cen ter 2% inches from the edge, making a red cross. Unfold before beginning the lesson.) LESSON: We will let this light,,blue “H” remind us of the heavenly Heal er, the Lord Jesus Christ. The heal ing power of Christ showed Him to be the Son of God with unlimited power. He healed all kinds of sick nesses and disease. It is well for us to remember that Christ has healed many more by His death on the cross than by His life. Only a small number of people met Christ when He lived on earth, but now all those who have faith in ’Him can have their hearts healed .by'Him. I fold this “H” to show how Christ now heals the hearts of all those who have faith in Him. We now see a red cross, reminding us that. Christ shed His blood on the cross to redeem us from our sins. When we by faith receive Him as our Saviour, our sin ful hearts are healed. There is an interesting story in the 4th chapter of John, telling about the healing of the nobleman’s son. We read, “When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death” (John 4:47). Instead of going with the man and healing the son at the man’s home, He said, “Go thy way; thy son liv- eth” (John 4:50). To some it might have been difficult to rest in this promise and believe that the boy was healed. Of the nobleman we read, “And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way” (John 4:50). Faith that believes Christ is always reward ed. John 4:51 tells us, “And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.” END.
water shall thirst again: But whoso ever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:13,14). Here is a cameo with the image of a person on it. We will let it remind us of Christ. As I press it against the
top bar should be white. All below the top bar should be red, making a red cross when separated from the top bar. Fasten with thumbtacks to a wall or blackboard.) LESSON: What do you think this large “ F” Stands for? “ It is black, and black reminds us of sin.” Does sin make one a success or failure? “Failure.” Yes, we will let this “ F” remind us of failure. In the third chapter of John we read about Nicodemus. He came to Jesus by night. Perhaps Christ was the only one who recognized that this man was a failure. He had po sition and power, but Christ told him he must be changed, must be born again before he could enter into the kingdom of God. The one who fails to be bom again is the greatest pos sible failure. This pair of scissors will help us to understand what happened to Nic odemus. (Cut the top bar off, hori zontally, where it joins the upright. Unfold it and you have a big black “ I.” Nicodemus was a failure, be cause he was a sinner. Here we have a big black “ I” reminding us of his sin. "When a person is aware of sin, God Wants him to know about the cross of Christ. (Open the remaining part of the “F,” and it will be a cross.) When the sinful self comes to the cross, Christ receives and cleanses from sin. We will now re verse the “ I,” showing how sins look in the sight of God after Christ has been received as Saviour. From John 7:50, and 19:39, we believe that Nic odemus was bom again. Jan. 24, 1954 C olors C an C ount OBJECTS: Four clay hearts and a cam eo. (The hearts should be red, yellow, black and white. They can be made from molding clay.) LESSON: Before Christ went back to heaven, He said to His disciples: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to ob serve all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:19,20). Christ’s gospel—the good news of His salvation—is for the whole world. I have here 4 clay hearts, all differ ent colors. They represent different races of people. Christ ministered to the needs of other nationalities beside the Jews as is seen in John 4, which tells of His dealing with the Samar itan woman at Jacob’s well. To her He said, “Whosoever drinketh of this
clay heart, it leaves its image on the heart. God wants our hearts and lives to be so changed that they will re mind people of Christ. The Christian should be kind, loving and patient like Christ. Notice that each heart, no matter what its color, is capable of receiving the likeness of the cameo. The like ness is as clear in this black heart as it is in the white one. So the black people can receive Christ as their Saviour and can reveal His likeness to their companions just as well as can the people whose skin is white. Likewise, the yellow heart repro duces the image perfectly. When the missionaries go to China and Japan, they find people who accept Christ and reveal Him to their friends in a way which often puts to shame American Christians. The red-skinned Indians, too, often show Christ to the unsaved better than do many white people. Of the Samaritans we read, “And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the sayings of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did” (John 4:39).
